Salt Lake Comic Con: Day 3

Here we are at day 3. Saturday was extremely busy. Patrick Stewart was a surprise guest and Nathan Fillion is doing his photo op.

This poor guy has been wearing this mask all day.

One of the best uniforms in SciFi.

The finished product of the balloon robot.

Rufio from Hook

Cosplay model and comic artist.

This is the first time that I have been able to see one of these. I heard about them while in Afghanistan.

She is at it again. Another 5 hours of getting painted on.

Super Girl taking over the Enterprise bridge.

Now it is my turn. This is the same set used on Star Trek TNG.

A different take on the Starfleet uniform

Lex and Russ from the show Jim Henson Creature Shop

She is finally done

Some more acrobatics.

This was fun. I recommend doing it. The next one is in September. I am hoping to go to it. Here are some celebs that i got to see.

Salt Lake Comic Con: Day 2

Day 2 was awesome. My plan was to get up at 07:15 so that I will have enough time to get ready and for travel time. I was completely exhausted from the first day and sleep felt so good. That is until Logan got up around 06:30. So for the next 45 minutes we played transformers before I get ready for the day.

Here we are at the Salt Palace

For Day 2, these guys were the most photographed costume. They even won 2nd in the cosplay contest

Just had to get a pic of a female Han Solo and a female Boba Fett.

It took a little convincing to get this guy in a Star Trek uniform to pose for this, but he finally did it. The guys that are in armor are Bounty Hunters from the Star Wars Universe, so this made for a memorable pic.

Here is a remote controled camera mount that I would love to have.

She is just one of my favorites.

A  two piece M-16 made by a 3D printer. No worries. They are solid pieces.

Have a little Jabba in your java

These guys are working on a movie to show that girls can kick butt.

These are the best bounty hunter costumes that I saw. Mostly because of the Jar Jar Binks head

Here are some more of the Enterprise models. They brought an unfinished one so that people can see the wiring for the lights

Here is more of the detailed paint job. This is the rear of one of the models in the picture above.

This poor girls had to stand there for about 5 hours to be painted. Stop looking. They use special pieces to cover up certain parts.

All done.

Had to get a pic of the R2's. They are controlled by remote. They can drive around, their heads move around, and other moving pieces. You can tell the people who made them spent a lot of time and money.

These guys were raising money for an animal shelter. I decided to donate some money and get a picture with a proton pack on.

Of all the Cat Woman outfits, She was the only one I saw with the one from the original Batman TV show.

 Finally saw some Monty Python

These guys who made their Halo costumes did a really good job.

 Yay! Super Girl

For those who don't know what Sharknado is, it is the worst scifi movie of our time. Of coarse this doesn't detour people from dressing up as it.

As I was walking around I thought that Logan would love this stuff. I asked how much it would have cost for kids under 5. It ended up with my VIP pass he would be free. I text Kenny and Jamie and had them bring Logan to the Salt palace.

At first Logan was not so sure. There was a lot to see. He was excited to see Super Man, but didn't want his pic taken. When he saw the ST-ST he started to get a little braver. It still took a couple of minutes to get this picture.

He really wanted to play with this. Soon after he saw two boys about his age playing with these guns that made noise, lit up. moving parts, and even had a laser on it. The booth that sold them wasn't to far away and they weren't to much so, I got him one.

I knew of a way for Logan to feel more comfortable to get his picture taken with the things and people that were there. The Cos play girls would be a perfect start. It worked. As soon as he saw the green hair, he had to see it. It took two takes to get him look at the camera.

Soon after, Logan spotted more green hair.

He really wanted to get a Spider Man face paint mask.

We spotted Olaf,

Turbo,

and a giant robot made of balloons.

Don't forget about Death Stroke and Green Arrow.

No Comic Con would be official without getting you picture taken with Star Wars characters.

If you haven't noticed, I also got Logan a cape. I went to get a picture of Logan and the bounty hunter when Logan whips out his gun from under his cape and shoots the poor guy.

We also got to be captured.

Most of the people who dress up are also in character. Here is Logan up against Harley Quinn. She is the Jokers girlfriend in the Batman universe. She likes to clown around and is a ditzy blond. Logan loved that she played along with him.

He liked the Ghost Busters

He wasn't to sure about her.

Some awesome cakes that we saw.

Logan spotted Super Man again and really want to meet him this time.

Some big guys with big guns. Logan needed to show off his gun.

The line was short for the Tardis and we were able to get our picture with it.

We found another Harley Quinn

These guys loved Logan. They thought he was the cutest little guy. He even got to high five Elvis.

Logan decided that he was all done and time to go home. while waiting I was hoping to get an awesome Easter pic for Logan with a Zombie Easter Bunny. He really did not want to go near it. These two girls that worked the booth decided to show Logan how they scare people.

On the way out Logan got one more pic with Iron Man

After Kenny and Jamie picked up Logan, I went back in to see a few panels. The first one was a cosplay contest. While waiting there were some performers show what they can do.

Now it's time to see the contest. Unfortanatly the lighting was terrible, so I'm not able show all the pics I took.

Trying a little booty shake for the judges.

The family that dressed as the X-Men characters won first and the Zombies won second.

She didn't make it in time to enter the competition.

The next panel that I went to was the Face Off competition. Face Off is a reality competition show where makeup artist compete on who is the best. it is a really cool show that come on the SyFy channel. In this panel there are competitors who have 30 minutes to put on two kinds of prosthetics and makeup.

The final product

The last panel I went to was a hypnotist. When he put them to sleep, the guy in the red jacket was so under that he fell out of his seat and never woke up when he hit the floor.

These two were all over each other.

The hypnotist made them think it was in the high 90's

Then freezing cold.

Now watching a scary movie.

And a dance competition.

The show wasn't over there. Before everyone went back to their seats, the hypnotist gave his last suggestion. When the girls sat back down in their original seats it would be so hot that they would jump up and scream. For the guys, 20 minutes after they woke up, every time they past through a door way they would yell " I'm a woman trapped in a mans body." There were a few people who actually did.

Now for the end of the day pics. These Two are of another body paint model ( again, all the goods are covered up)

This is a newer style that has come out in the past few years called Steam Punk.

This is the end of day 2
